US Army Sgt. Michael Minard, 28, of Union Beach was severely injured October 1st, 2007 while serving his country on his 3rd deployment to Iraq. Sgt. Minard sacrificed both his legs due to an IED roadside bomb while with the 1-2 ACR Stryker Brigade.
He has been at Walter Reed AMC recovering since October 2007 . A Trust Fund has been established for Mike and a volunteer committee has been established from the local communities as well as the professional organizations at Fort Monmouth. |
Homes For Our Troops has agreed to build Mike's home. While the home will be funded by Homes For Our Troops there is still a need for financial donations to the Trust Fund to pay down other expenses. |

Construction is currently underway to build a handi-cap accessible home for Sgt. Minard and his family in Union Beach, NJ.
The first step was to demolish the old home and the next step is to build the new home.
